Oh Shiz
The other day Dilon was reading to Grif and Dax from the Book of Mormon reader (is that what those are actually called? I don't know). Anyway, he was reading about the Jaredites and Coriantumr and Shiz. The poor kid was trying to be serious and read and every single time he said Shiz he started to giggle. The other two were totally oblivious as to why he was laughing and in all fairness to him he really was trying hard not to. Finally I asked him what the deal was and he said: "mom, shiz is like one letter away from the "s" word". Not really the message I was trying to get them to learn. I am pretty sure I will never be able to read about the Jaredites again without thinking of Dilon. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

6 months already?
Happy 1/2 b-day Baylor. He actually turned 6 months yesterday so I am a day late. What else is new? I'm always a day late and a dollar short (or lots of dollars short). It's been a crazy 6 months but I wouldn't trade a minute of it. I love my little bay bug. He is getting so fun. So spoiled, but so fun. To add icing to the (birthday) cake he has slept through the night 3 times in the last week. Actually 3 times in the last 6 months--go Baylor! Here's hoping there will be many, many more uninterrupted nights of sleep (hey a girl can dream can't she--no pun intended).
**on a side note, sorry for the mess in the background. I hate cluttered counter tops and stuff on top of the fridge but it was Sunday. I let my ocd take a break on Sundays.

Disneyland.........I heart you!
I love Disneyland. Apparently the rest of the world does too. We seemed to have hit spring break so it was a bit busier than I would have liked it to be. Still, it was sooo much fun. Here is our trip in pictures
**Thank you grandma and grandpa squeaker for watching Baylor for us. I'm sure he had much more fun with you than he would have had with us

11 (mostly) BLISSFUL YEARS!!!!
Happy Anniversary Nate! I am so grateful I found you. Well you actually found me. Remember standing in the snow in shorts outside my apartment window in Logan in the middle of December? When we opened the window to see who the crazy person was you started reading scriptures to us. From that moment on I was smitten. Okay, not really. It took several months before we went out because seriously, who stands outside some strangers window and reads their scriptures as a pick up line. Anyway, the past 11+ years have certainly been interesting. Here's my list of the 11 greatest things over the past 11 years(thanks Amanda, I totally stole this from you). **Warning** this may get a little cheesy for some......
1-Dilon
2-Grifin
3-Dax
4-Baylor
5-We survived a layoff and ended up better off in the long run
6-We've turned our house into a home--it's a bit chaotic at times but it's still home
7-You lost most of your hair and I don't care
8-I gained weight and you don't care--at least that's what you say, I say the verdict's still out on that one
9-We survived changing a colostomy bag on a baby almost every day for several weeks. Seriously, I do not miss the yelling at 2 a.m. because a bag was leaking and we were both so sleep deprived we didn't know what else to do besides yell (man, that seems like it was forever ago). I know now that it made us stronger
10-You kiss me on the cheek in the middle of the night when you think I'm sleeping
11-You put up with me and all my craziness. But seriously, stop calling me crazy
It would be interesting to see what Nate's list would have on it. Maybe I don't want to know. We thought we would celebrate our anniversary this year by taking the kiddos to Disneyland. We were supposed to go last year for our 10 year anniversary but we were fresh out of money (stupid water heater). We are still trying to get that money tree to grow but decided to do it anyway. I only have so many years of vacation time left with my little family (thanks Jami for making me aware of that) so we need to make the most of the time we have. We are soooo excited! Only 2 more days!!!!!
Our picture from our wedding announcement.
Look how much hair Nate had and look how pale I am (i think I may be a vampire)

Pickle sandwich please
One day, about 2 years ago, Grif came to me and asked if he could have a pickle sandwich. Excuse me, you want a what? Yep, I heard right, he wanted a pickle sandwich. All he wants is a piece of bread or a bun with pickle relish on it. Gag, I know. I'm right there with ya. I figured the kid would outgrow it and we would all move on from the pickle sandwich phase of life. Well he is still eating at least one a day. I am quite positive we have single-handedly kept Vlasic in business. I have also caught him eating erasers, bouncy balls, scabs (you just gagged again didn't ya), string, rocks and who knows what else. I am pretty sure his taste buds got all screwed up from all the head banging he did as a toddler. I've said it a million times and I'll say it again.......I LOVE this quirky kid!

Day of rest ..........yeah right
I remember the good ol' days when Sundays were made for being lazy. Nate and I hanging out, taking naps, not doing much of anything. Those days are looooong gone. I have officially taken on the role of wicked witch of the west Sunday mornings. With Nate gone by 7:00 that leaves me four (very handsome) boys and myself to get ready and out the door before 9:00. So far we have had great success getting to church on time. Most weeks we are even a little early (do I get brownie points?). But oh the chaos that goes on at the Wright house during that time. Yelling, clothes flying, doors slamming, crying --not to mention the meltdowns that the kids have. You would think my ocd would kick in and I would have everything ready and organized Saturday night. But nope, no such luck. However when all is said and done the final outcome looks like this--
It's all worth it, right? Of course it is!

OCD just like me!
I moved the couch this morning to vacuum behind it and the next thing I knew Dax was on the floor cleaning the vent with a Q-tip. Such a proud mom moment!
**and no I don't normally move the furniture when I vacuum but I just discovered that when grif is eating a snack and doesn't want some of it he just throws it behind the couch. Another proud mom moment?

Tastes like chicken..........
One of these days I am going to learn to stop holding Baylor above me with my mouth open. More than once his full belly has decided to empty itself right into my mouth. Usually followed by a mischievous smile. It's not quite as bad as it sounds. Okay I'm lying. It's NASTY. It's not necessarily the taste so much as knowing what is in your mouth. The taste is indescribable and when people eat something they can't describe they usually just say it tastes like chicken. Well there is one thing I know for sure, it definitely does NOT taste like chicken!
